First off, I’m just going to get it out of the way and say you’re welcome before you thank me at the end of this piece. We all know us well dressed gentlemen love that little grown section of moc-toe boots, brogues, and boats next to our III’s and IV’s. And I’m sure we all know exactly how much every piece in that collection costs. Looking good can be steep at $300 – $700 for a pair of class. Those days are now over. Let me present to you Zevin.

Just beautiful shoes.
I had a chance to chop it up with Zevin owner and friend Rivan Satria regarding his companys’ origins, values, and aims.
*Note Zevin is based out of Indonesia so English in the interview is broken.*
JF: How did Zevin Shoes get its start? When and how did the idea come together?
Zevin: I like shoes. Me and my friends, there are 4 of them do the same way. So we decided to elaborate our “hobby” more by creating by ourself because Indonesian market has been emerge very rapidly. (ZEVIN created July 8th, 2010, after 1 year preparation.)
JF: What are some of the core values that are followed at Zevin when putting your vision out there?
Zevin: The core values are the 4 words that appear first at our website. Premium, Genuine, Handmade, Pure Beside that, the core values of the organization are Integrity, Work Hard, Never Stop.
JF: What would you like to accomplish for Zevin in the year of 2012?
Zevin: Our main target at 2012 is go international, which hypebeast as the first step to introduce us to the world. Now, we aim to enter Singapore and San Francisco store as first step to international retail.
JF: What is your personal favorite Zevin Shoe?
Zevin: Our anniversary edition, the silvereye boots. 50 pairs limited and sold just weeks.

JF: Do you feel that the mature and classier shoe game is equally competing with the street-wear game amongst the same demographic?
Zevin: Yes, there’s no doubt that mature and classier shoe have their own
market, and still growing every year.
JF: Anything you want to tell the people?
Zevin: One sentence, Don’t look where we came from, but look what we offer.
And trust me when I say what Zevin has to offer is impeccable. I recently received a pair of Longwing Semi-Brogues in the Cigar Brown colorway and let me make it clear I am very impressed. At the price point of $150 the quality of these shoes mirror the likes of Quoddy, Yuketen, and Visvim. Can’t say I don’t love the hand made wooden box they come in too!
The Longwing Semi-Brogue is constructed with a full grain sunbios peeled cow hide outer and tan deer hide on the interior. The natural crepe rubber wedge sole provides a beautiful contrast to the tan leather although I admit I suck at taking care of crepe soles.
Here is a picture of me rockin’ my Longwings at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco, CA. My pair of Zevins are quickly becoming my favortie everyday shoe due to the fact they add quick kick of class to any outfit. Definitely my first to many pair of Zevin Shoes.
Shout out to the homie Rivan Satria and the folks over at Zevin Shoes for the exclusive.
