When my friends ask me what to see and visit in the Philippines, the first thing that comes to mind is Boracay, baby.
There are a lot of amazing beaches around the world but there’s nothing like Boracay—baby. If you are a certified nature junky and sun-worshipper, then Boracay is the place to be. If you love the high energy of partying, then Boracay is the place to be. If you love the adventure and feed off of the rich culture and authentic food, then Boracay is definitely the place to be. Just up the northwestern tip of Panay Island in the Visayan region of the Philippines – simple, easy and cheap to get to. Walking along the sands of this island, you will experience the most beautiful, panoramic view with lily-white sand and crystal clear waters. Coupled with an ample number of restaurants from various cuisines to choose from. And, your choice of Starbucks coffee in your hand.
Traveler or not you’ve probably heard of Boracay at least once. There’s a reason for it. Boracay has been named the second best beach in the world, only behind Providenciales in Turks and Calcos Islands, and numero uno in Asia according to travel website, Trip Advisor Travelers’ Choice 2011. Summer on my mind, Boracay baby.
