Meet Sam Tsui – the musician and internet celebrity who rose to fame on YouTube with over 85 million views- a 22 year-old Chinese American singer, pianist, and songwriter originally from Pennsylvania who attended Yale University. He was mentioned by Tom Hanks in an address to his graduating class of Yale 2011. As a member of The Duke’s Men of Yale, an all-male acappella group of Davenport College, he was a popular figure in the group. He lived down the street away from Kurt Schneider, his producer and accompanist. As of February 2011, the YouTube channel “KurtHugoSchneider” has garnered over 360 million total views and a million subscribers.
Sam’s impeccable talent has accumulated fans from all over the world. He’s appeared on Oprah, ABC World News, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Original medleys and mashups such as the popular Nelly’s “Just a Dream” cover he did with fellow YouTube singer Christina Grimmie in 2010, received world wide attention with over 42 million views! However, he’s best known for covering popular songs such as Christina Perri’s “Jars of hearts” which got over 8 million views, but by far, his version of Britney’s “Hold it Against Me” tops it with over 12 million views!  Most recently, he was a Behind-The-Scenes host on NBC’s acapella competition show, The Sing-Off Season 3. He posses unparalleled talent and is someone to look out for in 2012.
