Last week was an intense week for a fight to the finish on Bravo’s Emmy winning hit series: Top Chef Season 9 finale.
Paul Qui of Austin’s Uchiko (Japanese restaurant) was a strong fan and judges favorite throughout the entire season who beat Chicago chef Sarah Grueneberg  and earned himself the well-deserved title of “Top Chef†and took home the coveted prize of $125,000 as the overall winner. Winning six out of the 12 elimination challenges, a car and a trip to Costa Rica, the finale win sure was the ultimate cherry on top!
Paul trained under chef Tyson Cole (who won a James Beard Award) and was part of his team when he competed on “Iron Chef America†in 2008. A native of the Philippines, Qui moved with his family to America and attended the Texas Culinary Academy – now Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.
Take a peek at the scene inside Paul’s executive chef home during the airing of the
finale – when he was announced the winner of Top Chef 9!! I wished I was there for the sake bombs that ultimately followed after!!
