Vietnamese-American hip-hop designer & film director, Chris Le, directed and produced a potentially viral 30-second commercial for the 2012 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest.
As if it was straight out of a Transformers movie, Le incorporates a CGI robot that puts a futuristic yet fun twist on man’s best friend, the dog, in his piece titled “My Friend Archie.â€
Surprisingly, the piece of work was produced on no more than $100, says Chris Le. Actor, Michael Monasterio, a film crew consisting of DJ Donricky, Ryan Mccardle, Jonny Monasterio, and Mike Christensen also assisted Le with his contest submission.
In 2011, 4,260 entries were submitted to the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest, with even more entries predicted to enter this year. Now the competition is as tough as ever with bigger prizes at stake.
The top 5 finalists of Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest will win $25,000 and tickets to a private super bowl party. The grand prize winner, however, will win an additional $1,000,000, a broadcast airing of their submission, and a consulting contract with a Hollywood professional.
Help Chris Le become a top 5 finalist– or better yet, take top honors as the grand prize winner and secure a spot in the coveted super bowl commercial line up for Super Bowl XLVI.
“My Friend Archie†can be viewed and shared on www.myfriendarchie.com and official voting will begin on Jan 5th, 2012 at www.crashthesuperbowl.com.
