While it’s no mystery that fairy-tales usually end in a Disney-kindred happy spirit, some do have their unfortunate downfalls. A TikTok video has recently surfaced about a man who donated a kidney to his girlfriend’s mother, only to be dumped the weeks after.
As told by “The Sun” news media, the man’s name is Uziel Martinez from Baja California, Mexico. He recently broke up with his girlfriend a month after his operation to donate his kidney to his girlfriend’s mother. “I donated a kidney to her mother, she left me and got married a month later to another guy” he said.
Uziel said in a TikTok video that he donated his kidney to save the life of his girlfriend’s mother. The said TikTok video has been watched over 16 million times to date.
The video was made nonchalantly in conjunction to a concurring trend about men recounting their worst experiences with exes through TikTok video stories and posts. Many people have offered their sympathy and support to him in the comments section of the video.
Users has gone as far as commenting, “Wow! How does she live with herself? I’m sure the entire family was in on it. Sending you love and massive hugs!!”. While others continued to shower support by saying, “Don’t look so sad, she lost a great gentleman. Keep moving forward and find the perfect woman who appreciates you.”
After the video had surfaced on social media and went viral, Uziel insisted that he was over with the breakup. On the other hand, he stated that despite the split, he and his ex are still on good terms, “Actually I’m fine, I’m fine emotionally, I think so is she. I have nothing against her, we are on good terms.” He added that while they aren’t friends by any means, there are no grudges between the two.
Despite his seemingly high spirit and enthusiasm, Uziel urged others not to make the same hasty mistake in their relationships. He had even gone as far as adding humor along with many commenters by saying, “We have only two kidneys, but as of now, I have only one kidney left and I can’t feel it.”
