If it seems like the hilarious Ken Jeong has been in almost every movie you’ve seen in theaters lately, well, it’s because he has! These aren’t just small budget films, we’re talking about big budget movies that have all-star casts. In this past summer alone, he was seen in the hit films, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Zookeeper, Big Momma’s House, and Hangover 2. He has also been featured in commercials and has a reoccurring role on NBC’s “The Community” as the funny Senior Chang. It’s amazing how far he has come along in Hollywood. Let’s not forget, he is a licensed doctor!
No, we are not lying to you, Ken Jeong is an actual doctor, turned stand up comedian, turned movie star. He has become Hollywood’s go to guy for quick comic relief on the big screen where his unique sense of humor and antics have made him a crowd favorite. Â His cameos in all these different films have made them that more memorable and enjoyable. However, all of this would not have been possible without the support of his wife.
Ken is married to Tran Ho, who is a doctor as well, and recent breast cancer surivor. Throughout her ordeal, she constantly kept pushing him to pursue his career and his dreams as an actor and comedian. That kind of motivation pushed him to be the best actor that he could be and was blessed when they found out that she would survive the cancer. Now as you can see, he’s on almost all the films you see in theaters. It is true when they say behind every good man is a great woman.
So what’s next for Ken Jeong? The sky’s the limit. We recently found out that he is voicing a character for an animated film called Norm of the North that is scheduled to be released in 2012. We’re pretty sure that we’ll continue to see Ken on television and movies for years to come. His passion for his craft and comedy shine through in all his roles and he’s definitely an inspiration and role model to aspiring Asian American actors.
