Jay Park’s first full-length album New Breed has topped the iTunes R&B charts in numerous countries including the US. His success is largely attributed to his diehard Korean fan base and his innate knowledge of Western culture and trends that stem from his Korean-American background.
Upon hearing the news of his albums successful launch, the K-Pop star takes to Twitter to thank his fans. “Damn # 1 on US iTunes already?? That shit cray! Thanks for the love ya’ll glad to see ppl still enjoy good music!!â€
The album contains 15 songs with features from Rob Knox, Dynamic Duo, Dok2, The Quiett, Bizzy, Tiger JK, and Yoon Mirae.  The album is heavily R&B and Hip-Hop focused, showcasing both Jay Park’s smooth vocals and rapping abilities, with a few pop and electronic remixes of the title track “Know Your Name (feat. Dok 2)†thrown in for good measure.
The main music video for “Know Your Name†is choreographed by SoReal Cru’s Andrew Baterina and Jackie Lautchang, Haw from Prepix, and the talented dancer himself, Jay Park.
Jay Park participated in the majority of the songwriting and production, with extra help from renowned songwriter, Rob Knox, who has worked with big named stars like Justin Timberlake and Rihanna.
Overall, the album has commercial appeal, but his bad boy image, sexual prowess and expletive lyrics may be too much for the conservatives in the K-Pop industry. But money talks, and if album sales look good, Jay Park may find himself a reputable place among the ranks of the Korean music industry.
