If you didn’t catch Jason Wu’s limited edition line for Target’s commercial in between this year’s Superbowl game, you missed out on being one of the 100 plus million viewers who got in one of the biggest fashion news so far this year! Super bowl Sunday was a big day for football fans, but  if you’re a fashion-minded shopper who loves discount couture – Sunday was defintiely a huge day for you!  At the crack of dawn Sunday morning, people were lining up “Black Friday” style in front of Target stores across the nation hoping to grab a piece of the causally cool and flirty dresses and accessory pieces from Wu’s line.
The heralded designer has dressed Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and the First Lady Michelle Obama, who has been noted as the main person that helped propelled Jason Wu’s name to the public and helping to launch his fashion career to new levels. She wore a stunning custom-designed one-shoulder floor length white chiffon gown to the inaugural ball, the night of -her husband- President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
Everyone was asking “Who are you wearing?!” and she said proudly “Jason Wu”. His name immediately dropped into the hat for being the next big fashion designer to look out for! Originally from Taiwan,  Jason Wu called British Columbia his home in America. He started learning how to sew by creating and designing freelance doll clothing for a toy company under the original line “Jason Wu Dolls”. He quickly became creative director and decided he wanted to become a fashion designer his senior year of high school. Little did he know that one day… he would be designing a limited edition line for one of the biggest discounted retail chains in America.
