Check out Ryan Higa’s YouTube story here featuring his mom saying Ryan is pretty quiet and reserved and started in the summer of 2004 with his VHS camcorder and few neighborhood friends. Ryan couldn’t drive at the time and had nothing better to do, so he started recording videos that kept him out of trouble. He was totally surprised when he logged in after a month to find that his first video got over 1,000 views - mediocre to the 1.10 billion times his videos has been viewed today! It didn’t take long for Ryan to see that people from all over the world  were commenting suggestions for more and loving his charming wit and hilariously random and crazy weird comedy videos!
Ryan is best known for his solo comedy videos, which are written, filmed, edited, and produced by none other than the Ryan Higa Production Company which consist of only 1 person, himself:
With the rise of his YouTube celebrity status, he’s collaborated with many fellow YouTube stars, such as KevJamba and D-Trix (from Quest Crew).
Ryan has been a part of a few films, and most recently (2010) stared in a new independent 35 minute film he created with Wong Fu Productions called “Agents of Secret Stuff” which features some other popular YouTube users, such as his beautiful and talent co-star Arden Cho.
When he started college at UNLV as a nuclear med major, he shortly realized that he didn’t like it and decided he was going to go after what he really wanted to do, and switched over to a film making major – all thanks to YouTube.
