AMC’s EPIC American post-apocalyptic horror “The Walking Dead” television series is all over my social media feeds on Sunday nights. I have yet to jump on the band wagon as I am not a huge fan of anything zombie or “walkers” – as they’re called on the show. Just not my thing. I paid no attention when I heard friends raving about it after it premiered in the United States in late 2010. Fast forward to 2012, and I find that it is has grown to be the most-watched basic cable drama telecast …in history! Whao.. what am I missing here??? So I tuned in finally, and found myself in love with this guy on the show – and not so much of the show itself (sorry zombie fans).
Korean-born American actor, Steven Yeun plays a youthful character by the name of “Glenn” on the hit show. Glenn is the typical nice Asian guy. What makes his character so kick-ass is that he’s not some regular extra kid on the show. By fighting the hierarchy of leaders and gaining respect from his peers, he’s known for being the guy that’s willing to stick his neck out there to save lives! Before the apocalypse stuck the streets of Atlanta, Glenn worked as a pizza boy where he gained invaluable knowledge of the city’s streets. Mastering that proved worthy for his survival tactics throughout the show in order to scavenge for food and protection from hoards of zombies. His willingness to take risks maintains his enthusiasm for life and his nieve nature.
