Will Smith teases a photo from the set of Disney’s Aladdin remake, featuring: Aladdin (Mena Massoud), Jasmin (Naomi Scott), Jafar (Marwan Kenzari), and Genie (Will Smith).
Disney also recently announced 2 new additions to the cast.
Prince Anders, a role written specifically for the remake, will be played by Billy Magnussen. This decision, however, has been criticized by fans as another whitewashing, claiming Disney only added the character so that they could introduce a Caucasian actor into a cast composed primarily of people of color.

Mara, a handmaiden, and Jasmine’s friend will be played by Saturday Night Live alum Nasim Pedrad.
So far Disney has done a good job selecting a diverse cast, but how far from the source material will they stray? Only time will tell. But teasing us with a photo, only further peaks our curiosity on the outcome of one of our favorite Disney classics.
