Before Mike Shinoda embarked on a solo rap career as Fort Minor, and even before Linkin’ Park got signed to a major label, Shinoda was known as “Kenji” in his early band Xero.
Originally, fans assumed only 4 Kenji tracks existed (which were from Linkin Park’s 1996 demo tape), until Reddit user Almamu shared some audio rips from old rap albums.
Shinoda even took to twitter to confirm the nearly 2 decade old tracks:
Confirmed, these are old songs we made in the earliest Xero days. I made a few tracks with Joe. We produced the tracks together, (1/2) https://t.co/OAUmXNETuX

…Joe was working with Urban Network, a rap / r&b industry magazine & I was trying out the stage-name “Kenji.” cc:@LPLive (2/2) https://t.co/OAUmXNETuX
