Jackfroot Exclusive Interview With Peter Chao
J: For those that don’t know, how did you first get into making online YouTube videos?
P: One night, I was really bored, so I made a video response to this guy Chi City who made a video on how to stock your fridge to get mudabitches. I didn’t think it would even be seen by anybody but the next day, it had 15,000 hits cause Chi not only watched it, but added the video response to his favorites. My friend was like, “You’re gonna blow up, make more videos”, so I did.
J: There are rumors out there that your real name is not Peter Chao, care to comment?
P: All lies.
J: What are some of your favorite things to do when you’re not making videos?
P: I lead an incredibly quiet life. I enjoy time to myself and I think about ideas constantly, mostly when I’m dropping a deuce. I just love to entertain.
J: What are some of the craziest things you put Sriracha hot sauce on?
P: I put that shit on everything. Wait, wrong brand. But yeah, everything. I put it on oysters to make it taste less seafood-y.
J: If you had the chance to be any animal, what would it be and why?
P: A gazelle, even though they’re mostly in reference to women, I admire their amazing vertical leap.
J: We see you have done a few music videos, are you planning on releasing an album one day?
P: I’m not a musician, but I love to rap and sing. I’m good at either so if I was ever to release an album, it’d be like a comedy album a la Lonely Island.
J: What is your favorite Boba Tea Flavor?
P: Anything with mango. I love mango.
J: Can you name some of your favorite clothing lines and brands that you like to shop for and wear?
P: I wear G-Star, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, & Comme des Garcons but I’m trying out new brands every day. Going to HK soon so I’ma hit up some new shops over there. I wanna get into a little Alexander Wang & Alexander McQueen. Big fan of their work.
J: What are some major plans and projects you have in store for the 2012 year?
P: A huge “Year of the Dragon” music video in the spirit of my last two music videos. Otherwise, I live by the day and I just like to think I’ll be chugging along for years to come without signs of aging. After all, I’m Asian. I got good skin.
J: Career wise, where do you see yourself 5 years from now in 2017?
P: I’ll still be making videos. There will always be shit to talk about. Even though I’ve pretty much covered every Asian stereotype there is to cover.
J: Do you have any last minute special words to your fans and our Jackfroot readers?
P: I may not act like I appreciate it, but I love all my fans and wish I could thank each and every person that has ever watched one of my videos. Keep watching and I’ll keep making them. Chao outside, mudafucka!
