Exclusive Interview with Chris Cash
Introduce your name, where you’re from, and how you got into music.
My name is Chris Cash also known as Cashavelli the Prince, and I am from Las Vegas also known as Sin City. Originally from Long Beach and Santa Ana, California. I got into music because I loved the art form and the lifestyle of it. To know another person is feeling what you’re feeling or going through what you’re going through really meant a lot t0 me. Despite what anybody thought of my career choice, my heart and my mind was set on becoming part of this business. I figure if I truly went hard, the worst thing that could happen is that i would gain knowledge and experience, and the best thing that could happen would that I would be successful at it.
Who are some of the artists that you look up to or would like to work with today?Wow, I look up to so many different artist and respect everyone. 2pac first and foremost. Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Ice cube, Ice T, Bone Thugs, Easy E, LL Cool J, Run Dmc, JayZ, DMX, 50, Baby, Lil wayne, Master P, the game, UGK, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Juelz Santana, Too short, and the list goes on. I would like to work with anyone that is creative and most importantly able to vibe with and create great music.
Who are some artists and producers that you’ve worked with so far?
I’ve mainly just been working with my own artist Matic and really trying to guide him in the right direction in this music business. I feel that is good to make sure your own camp is solid as far as business and direction before we start reaching out to do collaborations.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself putting out very successful music and having a small empire in Las Vegas. The goal is to be financially stable in order for me to consistently work on my music and create more business opportunity for my family and friends. I really just want to make a living doing something I love to do. Also, be able to start creating more community events, such as basketball tournaments, food drives, helping the children, etc.
When you’re not working on music, what other hobbies or jobs do you have?
I’m either in the studio, the gym, or the club. When I say club, I mean my business as a Host/Promoter in Vegas. I like to lift weights, and play basketball. Otherwise I’m on the strip, talking to women, and going to the club. Really Las Vegas is a big playground and I am very fortunate to get paid to play. I feel that I am already living the dream and I just want to share my experiences and motivate others to come live the dream with me.

Can you take us through what your daily routine is like from when you wake up to go when you go to sleep?
I usually wake up around 9am, and lay there to meditate for about 15mins. Visualize my day and the things I need to do. Then I go downstairs and have an amazing shake filled with all types of vitamins and nutrients as I do some free writing for about 10mins. Then I start to check my messages, see if I have any clients in town for the weekend. Depending on the day I either hit the studio or I go to the strip. Lets say today is Friday, so I’ll be going to the strip today. I check in at the marketing office to see all the events, then I hit the strip and talk to all the hottest girls i see in the city. Pretty much doing something I would be doing anyways on a friday. Around 6p. I hit the gym for about an hour. Head home and re connect with all the girls I’ve met during the day to make sure they come out. After that I get into the studio and come up with a verse or a couple new concepts before I start getting ready to go to the strip again. 11p I’m usually back at the club making sure all my girls are having fun. Then the night goes wherever it goes. Then I wake up and do it again.
What are some struggles or challenges you’ve faced so far as an artist?
The main challenge for me is staying focus. Anybody can rap, it takes a lot more to become a successful recording artist. Especially living in a city with so many temptations and trappings it is very easy to get lost in the lifestyle.
What are some things you do to get your creativity and musical inspiration going again when you get writers block?
I really don’t get writers block anymore. I feel that music should not be forced, it should come naturally from your heart. So i just continue to live life and creativity starts to flow. I guess in my earlier years the reason I would get writers block was because of the lack of experience, I didn’t have any experience I felt worthy enough to write about. Now I’m having those experiences but now I’m trying to find time to express them in my music.
If you were the President of the United States, what are 3 things you’d do to help change America for the better?
I’m really not qualified to answer that. I could say I want to get more jobs and take care of the youth and all that stuff but we all know its more complex than that. I really do want to make a difference in society but I feel the only way to do that is create my own wealth and then I can share it.
Do you have any last shout outs or drops you want to give to anyone?
Big shout out to the TrillaGang, the Trillapinos, everyone in Vegas, my fam, everyone that has help me through my path, all my radio homiees, all my dj fam, all my hustlas in vegas gettin it every day. I just want to represent to the fullest and i represent anybody like me!
