Commons & Sense is a Japanese magazine that is released biannual. It has existed since the late 90’s, describing itself as a response to the overwhelming ‘catalogue-like’ approach to fashion magazines that had long dominated the Japanese scene. Their aim was to produce an eccentric Japanese take on international fashion, keeping within the spirit of more experimental and edgy publications coming out of Paris and London, while being formulated from an entirely Japanese perspective.
Over a decade later, Common&Sense is now considered one of the prime examples of Japanese publications immersed in creativity. With a strong focus on fashion and other creative disciplines such as architecture and design, lifestyle and a dash of celebrity and the covering areas of pop culture for which Japan is renowned.
In their 2012 February Issue, BAPE and MASTERMIND JAPAN and Medicom have come together to release a Limited Edition Be@rbrick that will be released with the February Issue. The Vinyl Toy comes in a matte black with a metallic gold logo branding of BAPE and MASTERMIND JAPAN.
This sure beats the free cologne samples we’re normally accustomed to in magazines.
