I’m a female and I will say this with conviction: “Never trust a women who has on too much make-up, she is hiding something under all that cake”. Personally, I have given this advice to my male friends more than once, because I often hear the outcry from their “before and after reality check” – as I like to call it. The standardized image for “beautiful and sexy” is plastered all over the media, Hollywood, runways, and glossy magazines. Being a female in today’s modern age has more pressure and demands in the image department more than ever before, especially since we are more likely…

Awwwwww yeahhh! Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC) is back for season 7! [youtube id=”ur94doK3lqs” width=”619″ height=”315″] Take a look at the list of ABDC champions below and tell me if you see what I see. Collectively, all of the season’s winners have significant Asian American representation across the board. Nearly every crew on ABDC has had at least one Asian American member on their crew! The show itself is full of Asian Americans and it’s pretty honest to believe that we’ve had the notion of  “ASIAN America’s Best Dance Crew” cross our minds here and there.…

A brand new short from our favorite movie making trio Wong Fu Productions reminds us all to *exhale* … take it sloooow. In today’s world, kids are so use to the fast pace life that it applies to how they live and even the music they listen to. Think about this: When was the last time you heard a good slow song on the radio? Probably a while ago. If not years in my personal opinion. If I want my slow jams fix, I definitely don’t hit up the radio or shout out “spin that track yo.. you know, that really good…

Been listening to Verse’s new single “Ride to Oblivion” on my playlist for over a month now. This hot track featuring the veteran MC Jin takes us on an inside look into both artist and what keeps them grounded in music, life, and their faith. I’m excited they finally dropped an official music video produced with sick typography for us to better dissect each word and rhyme. Although it starts out slow with a sick beat for an interlude, I love it right at 0:20 – when the words start flowing. Check it out: [youtube id=”Ygzy_aEqz_E” width=”619″ height=”315″] Get it on iTunes here.…

Earlier this week, I was sadden by the announcement that Jeremy Lin’s knee injury required surgery to repair, and significantly will take weeks to heal: [youtube id=”8BzlcLav57Q” width=”619″ height=”375″] With the 2012 NBA playoffs fast approaching at the end of the month, I felt fans going through a grieving process of denial and slowly accepting the reality that Linsanity will abruptly come to a halt – however not a grinding  one at that. Linsanity is still very much deeply rooted in us and I don’t believe it will go away – ever. The shock lasted for days that…

AMC’s EPIC American post-apocalyptic horror “The Walking Dead” television series is all over my social media feeds on Sunday nights. I have yet to jump on the band wagon as I am not a huge fan of anything zombie or “walkers” – as they’re called on the show. Just not my thing. I paid no attention when I heard friends raving about it after it premiered in the United States in late 2010. Fast forward to 2012, and I find that it is has grown to be the most-watched basic cable drama telecast …in history! Whao.. what am I missing here???…

Based on the trajectory of “Hunger Games” posts all over social media this past week, I was not surprised by the strong hold the movie had over the ticket office this weekend. I’m personally not too keen of young-adult book series that involve awkward vampires and diamond crusted skin, but I was actually pretty excited for this one. Partly due to it’s non-femme hype. Hunger Games appealed to males as well as females, and it was observed by gazing over the crowd of fellow movie patrons that joined me on Saturday night. I won’t give you my personal review of the movie as…

The bond between a man and his fellow “bros” is something I have been intrigued about for years. Two or more dudes hanging out. Laughing together. Enjoying each other’s company. Hugging it out. Fighting it out and making up. The reality is this – men love each other. It’s a relationship that grows from spending lots of time with one another. How should we define such a relationship? Well now, let’s just call it “Bromance” shall we? Wikipedia defines it as: a close non-sexual relationship between two (or more) men. A portmanteau of the words bro or brother and romance.  YouTube sensation Ryan Higa pays homage…
