NBC has inked a deal with Bruno Mars to produce a scripted musical comedy. The team involved with the show also includes “Empire” executive producer Brian Grazer and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” writer Prentice Penny. “The comedy follows a loud, boisterous, and quarrelsome family from the Bronx and what happens when they take in their wide-eyed, hopelessly optimistic 10 year old nephew.” according to Prentice Penny. Dwayne Johnson broke the news on Facebook that Auli’i Cravalho of Mililani, Hawaii was cast for the lead role in the new Disney Animation film Moana. The film is about a young teenage girl from 2,000 years ago who sets sail to fulfill her ancestors’ quest. Opposite Cravalho is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who will be the voice of Maui, a demigod Moana encounters during her travels. “I’m pumped to welcome 14yr old Auli’i Cravalho of Mililani, Hawaii to our project.
