Remember the days of the ‘rice rockets’? Honda Civics and Acura Integras were flooding the streets with their super modified engines, especially after the release of the first Fast and Furious movie.
Recently, Audi just announced the ultimate rice rocket automobile to be released, their new special edition A8 5.5 geared towards busy businessmen on the go. What makes this vehicle extra special is a built in rice cooker for hungry people on the go. Now that’s what you call multi-tasking.
The All New Audi A8 5.5
What makes this vehicle even more special is that it doesn’t exist. That’s right. This made up rice cooking vehicle was specially made as an April Fools viral marketing campaign done by Audi back in 2015.
It’s probably one of the most well thought up marketing plans we’ve ever seen done by an automobile company. The creative news piece was pure marketing brilliance that left you with your mouth open.
The released photos included an actual well-designed rice cooker in the luxurious armrest in the back seat. They even went down and dirty with the details by placing the Audi logo onto the spoon and bowls.
Overall, it was a fun, yet clever way to creatively market the brand and put Audi into the mind of consumers everywhere. You can find the original posting here. Who knows, maybe Tesla can be the ones to install a rice cooker into one of their self-driving cars.
