Director Quentin Lee recently released a trailer for his upcoming film “White Frogâ€. This film features a star studded Asian American cast with the likes of Booboo Stewart from The Twilight Saga, Harry Shum Jr. from Glee and League of Xtrodinary Dancers, Joan Chen from The Last Emperor, BD Wong from Law and Order: SVU, and more.
The file follows a High School freshman by the name of Nick, played by Booboo who is a neglected teen with Mild Asperger’s Syndrome. The story line follows Nick as he is challenged and changed completely from a series of events following a tragic back story with his family. White Frog brings a universal story relatable to a broad array of audiences, captivating them with the power of family, friendship, and love.
The cast goes as follow, Booboo Stewart plays Nick whose life is changed by the unexpected fate of his adored older brother Chaz played by Harry Shum Jr. Joan Chen and BD Wong play the roles of their parents. Margaret Cho will play the role of Nick’s unconventional psychiatrist. Kelly Hu and Amy Hill are stated to make appearances in the the film as well.
Not only will the screen be filled with Asian American talent, but the soundtrack is also compiled of Asian American artists such as Big Phony, David Choi, CriBabi, Gowe, MC Jin, PaperDoll, Shin-B, Iammedic, and Booboo and Fivel Stewart!
White Frog will be the opening night film for the 2012 San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (March 8, 2012).
